I really enjoyed teaching linear algebra to an enthusiastic group of high school students this past semester. For better or worse, I deviated from a typical introductory course, instead focusing on applications involving stochastic matrices and eigenvectors. We used eigenvectors to find explicit formulas for powers of a 2x2 matrix and also an explicit formula for the Fibonacci Numbers. I summarized our approach to this last topic in the notes below. The next thing I have is an SAT course I'm co-teaching with an English teacher. Be sure to check back for thoughts on the process. DC
